Good news! Spring is around the corner but to get to it we must deal with the messy, dirty, splashy month of March. Get out our splash boots and rain pants. Let's hope it's an early melt and the streets and sidewalks are dry by the time we get to Spring Break at the end of the month. Have you thought about Spring Break? If you need to put your children into day camp programs you should do it now. Check out our list of spring break day camp programs available throughout the city. There is so much to do over Spring Break and we also provide you with some great family fun ideas and a packed calendar of events throughout the month.

This is our Summer Camp Superguide issue and we are blessed to have so many great day and sleep-away camp options in our city, province and surrounding provinces. Going to camp offers children the opportunity to grow and learn, socialize and try to things. There are day camps for children as young as 3. There are day camps for every interest: music, dance, gymnastic, coding, sports, cooking, acting, film, equestrian and outdoor education. Sleep-away camps offer children and teens the opportunity to escape the city and live in a cabin with other kids and enjoy the great outdoors, sports, camping, canoeing and much more! Check out the tips in this issue on choosing a camp as well as all of the camps advertising in this issue.

Come to Winnipeg Parent's Family Fun & Learning Fair on Sunday, April 19, 9:30am-3:30pm at the Manitoba Museum to meet a number of camps as we are including a special camp corner this year! You can meet with the Manitoba Camping Association who develops and maintains standards for organized camping in Manitoba. It is through the Standards and Accreditation program that we help the general public identify safe, healthy, well-run camps. The MCA Standards Manual covers all aspects of camp operations ranging from sound financial practices to ensuring safety in various program activities to recommended environmental standards. The manual is continually revised and updated to meet the dynamic camping environment of today.

Have you signed up for our free digital newsletter The Scoop yet! It eblasts to your in box in between copies of Winnipeg Parent. It offers great articles, family event information, contests and yummy recipes.

Have a great March and Spring Break!

Susan
