Winnipeg International Children's Festival Proudly Presents KIDSFEST 2011!
June 9 - 12 at The Forks
Where else in town do you get to see zany circus acts, high strung acrobatics, comic daredevils, pure artistry, absurdity and foolishness - plus unique musical performances by international artists. Only at the 29th Annual Kidsfest - that's where!
Festival Executive Producer Neal Rempel is totally pumped about this year's group of artists. "We've got so many fantastic acts coming this year - it's really a great mix of music, education, entertainment, and comedy for kids - I think it's the best one we've ever offered!" Rempel singled out several acts as "must-see" attractions including Mauvais Sort, a Canadian folk/rock n roll group from Quebec; Order & Chaos, music and bubble magic foursome from Germany and the USA; Splash'N'Boots with musical stories and Bronkar Lee's Circus of Sound from the States with his very entertaining one-man rhythmical dream of audio-visual delight.
The Festival is a favourite annual family destination each spring and is continuing the policy of allowing children to attend multiple days for the price of one-day's admission. "This Festival just offers way too much to be able to take it all in in just one day and we want to make sure that everyone is able to enjoy it as much as possible. All of the performances, the amazing variety of hands-on activities plus a few surprises makes for a full schedule of must do's." Rempel says. The Festival asks children (under 12) to simply exchange their previous day's wristband for a current one at one of the site's two box office kiosks. Please also note that children under 2 have free admission.
Performers from around the world entertain and educate through music, theatre, comedy, storytelling and a variety of hands-on activities. A guaranteed great time - rain or shine!
Advanced general public tickets are $12 each or $40 for a family of four. Gate prices are $14 each or $48 for a family of four. You can save on the gate prices by getting your advance tickets at all Winnipeg Safeway and Assiniboine Credit Union locations from May 9th to June 12th.
