It's May......Turn off the TV, video games and movies and take the family outside to play! The grass is turning green, the leaves are coming out and backyard gardeners will be heading to their local garden centres. Step outside and take a minute or two to stop, look and listen to sights and sounds of a Winnipeg morning in May. Feel the warmth of the sun and listen to the birds. Don't you love the smell of freshly cut grass?

You will learn about family friendly businesses, programs, products and services from our 30 exhibitors. Enjoy great entertainment and meet beloved children's characters from Laughter without Borders, have your face painted, wall climb, bounce, get a glitter tattoo, ride a pony and see the Six Pines Petting Zoo. This issue features our annual Baby on Board section devoted to new and expectant parents. There are few events in life as profound as the birth of a child, especially the first child in a family. It changes us forever and presents us with the toughest but most rewarding job of our lives. Parenting is hard! It challenges our strength, patience and endurance. We hope that the information we offer in this special section will be helpful.
Also, we offer our Summer Camp Superguide Part 2, highlighting the many day camp opportunities found in our city. From sports, to dance, music, computers, half days and full days, for preschoolers to teens... we know you will find that perfect experience for your child.
We also want to wish all Moms a very happy Mother's Day! Being a Mom is a work in progress. We learn something about motherhood daily and I am not sure that motherhood is something that we ever perfect. Every day that goes well as a mother to me is a Mother's Day! Those days when everyone gets to where they are suppose to be on time, dinner goes well, homework gets done without tears, everyone is happy with their bag lunches and you get lots of hugs.....that's a true Mother's Day! May you celebrate many perfect Mother's Days!
