Spring Break Fun For Free or Almost Free!!!!!!
- Head to the Forks for lots of free entertainment over Spring Break with the annual Festival of Fools. Buskers entertain all week. Take a walk, visit the unique shops and have something to eat. It's like being on vacation in your own city!
- McDonald's Playplaces - Great fun for the kids and no purchase necessary to play but...inexpensive treats such are available for kids and grown ups alike.
- Build a puzzle together. Choose one that is easy enough for everyone to help build.
- Get Your Family Fit - Neighborhood or mall walking costs nothing and is a great time to talk and enjoy each others company. Tour your neighborhood for signs of spring.
- Visit your local Craft or Book Store to see if they offer kids craft workshops and story telling. Some activities are free others charge a small fee.
- Rent a classic video that the whole family will enjoy. Examples are: Sound of Music, Herbie the Love Bug, Freaky Friday, Mary Poppins etc. These are movies we adults grew up with and to watch them again through the eyes of a child is wonderful.
- The Library - A great place to escape during Spring Breakr. Thousands of adventures in books, cd's and videos, all free with your library card. Ask about story and craft programs at the library during Break Week..
- Head to your local Big Box Hardware Store for free kids building lessons. One week might be a bird house and another a storage box. Just call them for the days and times.
- Indoor camping - Pitch a tent, get our your sleeping bags, snacks, story books, games and enjoy a night under the pretend stars in the quiet of own basement or living room! It's a great introduction to real camping.
- Tobogganing or skating at your local park if there is still snow and ice! You never know what the weather will bring this time of year.
