Can you feel the excitement as we head out of the cold, dark winter days and look forward to the warmth and spring thaw? March and April are wonderful, busy months and this issue offers valuable information that you will want to read. There are great articles from our regular contributors about parenting and family health and wellness. The kids are looking forward to Spring Break and all of the family activities that take place over the week. Winnipeg is a wonderful city for families, with so much to do!
Check out the extensive Spring Break Blast section in this issue and book your children into the camps, programs and events well in advance. Many programs book up early so if you are a parent working during Spring Break, it is important to have your children organized ahead of time. Some places offer daily events and programs, others cover the whole week. There is live family theatre, concerts and fun places to explore, all noted in the Spring Break Blast Guide. Have fun and parents -celebrate your inner child while having fun together. Just because you are 30, 40 or 50, doesn't mean that you stop being 5 or 10 or 15.
It seems early, but we also present our annual Summer Camp Superguide Part 1 in this issue. Summer camp is something every child should experience. There are summer camps for preschoolers to teenagers, full and half-day camps as well as sleep-away camps that offer children the chance to get away, meet new friends and learn new skills. Our province offers camp programs for every interest: Dance, musical theatre, equestrian, sports, outdoor education, animals, art, careers, computers and nature programs. How about going to camp as a family! You can do that too! Check it out and let the camps know you saw their information in Winnipeg Parent.
Please join us at Winnipeg Parent's 12th annual Family Fun & Learning Fair, Sunday, April 25th at the Rady Jewish Community Centre, 123 Doncaster . It promises to be a fabulous day of displays, activities and family fun! Bring the gang down and we are sure you will have a great time!
